The basic forms of guide pins are cylindrical pins and tapered pins. The cylindrical pin is fixed in the pin hole with a slight interference. Repeated assembly and disassembly will reduce the positioning accuracy. The tapered pin can be self-locked and fixed in the pin hole by the extrusion action of the tapered surface.
